Auto Repair in Ligonier, Wolcottville, and Kendallville
Austin Miller opened Tire Star of Wolcottville in May, 2011, when he was 21 years old. He opened for business in one of WOLF CO-OP’s buildings. At the time he still worked for WOLF (a feed mill located in Wolcottville) part-time, managing the everyday operations there. During the first few months, Austin continued to work for Tire Star and Wolf CO-OP. But by the end of that year Tire Star had gained enough business to allow him to work full time, and he was also able to hire a couple of technicians. Business continued in that building for three years.
- In February of 2015, Tire Star moved to its current location at 102 East Dutch Street in Wolcottville.
- In January of 2017, Tire Star acquired an existing auto repair shop in Ligonier.
- In April of 2019, Tire Star opened a shop in Kendallville.
In addition, Austin started Lakeland Towing & Recovery, which serves the northeast Indiana area.

Austin Miller is the owner of Tire Star and Lakeland Towing, with auto repair facilities in Kendallville, Wolcottville, and Ligonier. Austin has been solving problems and looking for entrepreneurial opportunities ever since he was a kid growing up on a farm. He began driving combine when he was 11 years old and still enjoys helping his dad on the farm. He likes the satisfaction of fixing vehicle problems, especially the ones where it seems like a big issue but then turns out to be a simple fix. Austin is active in his church and supports local youth sports teams and non-profits. He was selected for the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2020. He enjoys hunting, fishing, biking, backpacking, running ultra-marathons, and loves to learn new things.
Sarah Clarkson
Office Administrator
Sarah is our office administrator and has been with Tire Star since 2014. She is currently studying Business Administration at Ivy Tech and enjoys finding creative ways to make Tire Star a better place of business. She lives in LaGrange with her husband, foster son, dog, and cat. Sarah has been a foster parent since 2013, and has cared for a dozen children in her home since then, with her husband joining her as a foster parent when they got married in 2020. She enjoys reading, event planning, seeing new places, and hunting for the best tacos in whatever places life takes her.
